Plums

Typically available in July and August -yellow varieties ready earliest, red and purple later in the season.

We don’t grow plums on our farm as the risk of buds being damaged by spring frost is too high, so we get ours twice weekly from Lakelee Orchards in Jordan Station in the Niagara region.

• ripen on counter, or in paper bag to speed up the ripening process
• ripe fruit will yield when pressed gently & yellow plums will turn golden in colour
• once ripe, refrigerate in plastic bag in crisper drawer
