Pears

Typically available late July until September. 

We don’t grow pears on our farm, as the risk of buds being damaged by spring frost is too high, so we get ours twice weekly from Lakelee Orchards in Jordan Station in the Niagara region.

• store on counter at room temperature until they reach desired ripeness
• for faster ripening, place pears in a brown paper bag 
• refrigerate once pears have reached desired ripeness
