We are a local family farm that looks for honest and reliable seasonal staff to join our team each summer. Our farms are located outside of Buckhorn, Ontario, a 20-30 minute drive from Peterborough, Ontario. All employees must have their own source of transportation to work (ie. car and valid driver’s licence), as there is no public transportation available.

Farmers' Market/Farm Store Staff
Applicants should be dynamic, friendly and outgoing, willing to jump in, ready to learn and able to work at a fast pace. Must be good at multi-tasking, taking initiative and interacting with the public. A background in retail, farming, fruits and vegetable knowledge and/or experience with cash registers would be an asset. Job includes displaying and selling produce, interacting with customers and other tasks within the store or at farmers’ markets.
Field Guide
Applicants should be friendly and outgoing, able to multitask and good at taking initiative. Must be comfortable being in control, seeing the whole picture and able to take initiative to work independently . Successful applicants are expected to be positive, helpful and flexible in all aspects of the job. Job includes standing for long hours outside, showing people where and how to pick different fruits and making sure that all customers are having a positive farm experience.
Produce Harvester
Applicants should be good at manual labour, detail oriented and able to work in various weather conditions outdoors. Must be reliable, flexible and able to do repetitive tasks over long periods of time. Job includes harvesting various fruits and vegetables, depending on the season and what needs to be picked each day. Please note, harvesting of certain fruits and vegetables happens very early in the morning to avoid the heat of the summer days for both the harvester and the produce being harvested, so early working hours are often required.
Harvesting Manager
Applicants should be good at organization, multitasking and doing a variety of jobs at a fast pace. Having a drivers license and experience driving larger vehicles (such as trucks) and ability to speak Spanish is an asset. Must be flexible, able to take control and able to see what needs to be done. Must be comfortable both asking for direction and making decisions. Job includes preparing harvesting supplies, bringing in harvested produce to storage and making sure that all produce harvesters know what they are doing, as well as ensuring that they are doing their outlined job correctly and solving any problems they may have.
Farm Labourer
Applicants should be mechanically inclined, able to take direction and good at working independently. Must have a focus on safety, and be positive, friendly and helpful when necessary. Job may include a variety of different tasks such as working with machinery to help with growing and harvesting of produce, transporting customers on wagons via tractors for Pick Your Own, or other jobs throughout the farm.
